Matthieu Saladin, artist and professor, lives and works in Paris and Rennes. His practice is based on a conceptual approach, questioning the social, economic, political and ideological relationships that govern our contemporary world. By transposing units, indexing values or assigning statistics to objects or events, he is interested in the power relations at work in a given situation and the political economy that governs it. His work takes the form of protocols, installations and performances as well as publications, videos and software creations.

He is professor of visual arts at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, member of the Institut ACTE. His theoretical research focuses mainly on sound art and experimental music. He is co-editor of the Ohcetecho collection at Presses du réel.

His work is represented by Salle Principale gallery and is present in the collections of Fonds national d’art contemporain, FRAC Franche-Comté, FRAC Normandie, MAMC+ de Saint-Étienne Métropole, CDLA and Kadist Foundation.
