The Dogon Egg and the Distribution of Intensities

For breath. The score is the image that opens chapter 6 of Mille Plateaux and is captioned « the Dogon egg and the distribution of intensities ». The score is played by several people, without a limited number of participants. No instrument is necessary. No articulated sounds are emitted. The dotted lines of the drawing indicate the movements to be made by the participants, so that the whole of the movements carried out during the performance will eventually draw the performed graphic form. Each participant moves at his/her own pace. Each dash corresponds to an exhalation as long as possible. The distance covered for each dash is determined by the duration of this breath.
