Une histoire culturelle et politique du cri (1947-1957)

A cultural and political history of the scream (1947-1957) is a film without images. It takes the form of a study of screams taken from Hollywood films made during the period of the McCarthy witch hunts, between 1947 and 1957. Each scream retains its initial place within the source film and the sequence of screams thus creates a composition of sound events that erupt out of nowhere into the ambient silence. The film is projected every Wednesday at 5:47 pm, the time and day when Act No. 2017-1510 to reinforce internal security and combat terrorism was voted into law in the French National Assembly.
